You may have heard about the “multiple worlds” theory and countless parallel universes. Although disputes reign in scientific communities, we are learning more about synchronicity, probabilities, and the quantum realities we may exist in simultaneously. How might this concept apply to what we think of as the soul?
Some suggest that in a quantum universe, the eternal nature of who we are lives beyond time and space as we know it. Rather than seeing time and space as separate, Einstein saw them as intertwined into something he referred to as spacetime, or the space-time continuum. Even though most of us can’t wrap our linear minds around this concept yet, Dr. Ervin László, an American philosopher and systems scientist, reminds us that, “Science fiction, as well as ancient wisdom, are often the precursors of legitimate science, and legitimate science often rediscovers creative fiction and ancient wisdom.”
Perhaps other rules apply in this so-called quantum field. Maybe ancient masters and great shamans traveled to this field to heal, bi-locate, and even perform miracles; some do the same today, and we don’t even need to fly to the Amazon jungle to meet them.
The idea of the soul being multidimensional has many implications. Let’s use a linear example to shed some light on the soul from a more modern vantage point.
Imagine the soul is a large oak tree, but not just the parts of the tree we can see. Think of every aspect of the tree, from the seeds and roots in the ground and the bark that protects it, to the branches that soar into the sky. Now imagine the tree trunk and roots are the original source connected to everything, the branches on the tree as the vast number of lifetimes and experiences you’ve had, and the leaves on the branches as the skills and gifts you share with the world.
You might think of the soul as a spectrum of frequencies ebbing and flowing with what we perceive as physical life. We can access all that knowledge anytime we want, just like data in the cloud from our laptops. The difference is the information is always available to the soul, and unlike the above-mentioned technology analogy, we don’t need a Wi-Fi connection to access it. You might say it’s always active and alive, as is data (including memories) in what is more commonly known in spiritual circles as the Akash, or the Akashic Records.
Awakening To Your Many Souls
This manifestation of the soul is explored in this excerpt from Magdalene’s Journey, which examines parallels between science, psychology and ancient wisdom across cultures and belief systems:
To rise above your shadows means focusing only on the positive aspects of all your lifetimes as an aggregate, which brings light to all the negative ones. As you know, this takes a lot of practice and patience.
All your lifetimes are aggregated and make up your soul, and all your lifetimes are alive and part of who you are. All the positive and negative lifetimes are alive within you. When you enter a dark night or a shadow period in your life, your higher self is becoming aware of itself and has awakened to the fact that you are many, not just one. This step of awakening is a terrifying event for the soul, and remember, you are the soul. When you do what you call shadow work, you cannot eliminate your negative shadows; you can only rise above them. To rise above your shadows means focusing only on the positive aspects of all your lifetimes as an aggregate, which brings light to all the negative ones. As you know, this takes a lot of practice and patience. It means not bringing attention to what some see as karma, shadows, or traumas. Although they exist as part of an aggregate in your auric field, if you don’t bring attention or give energy to them, they’ll sink into the background and no longer drive your decisions or thinking.
While it may not be necessary to truly understand the quantum, multidimensional nature of our soul for practical purposes, a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of our soul with All That Is can bring us closer to living a purposeful life, one that focuses on the present moment — the here-and-now. When we live in the present moment, we experience more gratitude, joy, inner peace and love. We become aware of our connection to everything around us — the non-duality and oneness of who we truly are. This awareness changes everything.
From this place, more love, light and peace can enter our day-to-day activities. Understanding the soul is connected to everything, allows us — as light, energy beings — to remember that the frequencies we emit change depending on our thoughts, words and actions. Cause and effect are always in motion. As above, so below. In other words, when we focus on what we want more of in our lives, rather than what we’re lacking, more of what we desire shows up. If we plug into chaos, divisiveness and fear, whether that be through social media, conspiracy theories, or mass media, then that chaos only amplifies.
As multidimensional beings with never-ending souls, we do best when we can remember our true essence. Best practices include quieting the mind, spending time in nature, and resting in gratitude. Find like-minded individuals who support and embrace your decisions, rather than negate them or push you to support a point of view that doesn’t align with your values. Remember the infinite nature of who you truly are — you are not separate from source. You are truly all of it. Like the cosmos, we are forever rebirthing ourselves and expanding into something new again and again.
